Is there a huge difference between having 1 cat vs 2 cats?

Post Body

Hey y'all,

So full disclosure, I live in NYC renting a room in a cat friendly apartment. There is 1 other cat already in the home. My room is small-mediumish and it was fine for 1 cat but I'm not sure the space would be enough for 2. When I am at work they would stay in my room, but when I am home they would be able to explore the apartment and play with the other cat. Please let me know what you think or what factors should go into making this decision. Edit to add: I'm planning to adopt a kitten soon and some are already in pairs so I was wondering if I could handle a pair. I love them so taking care of them shouldn't be an issue.
