A bunch of questions here about my cat
Post Body

Hi all,

My family's cat, which we got fairly recently, has been free feeding. I don't know if that was how the previous owners fed him (they didn't tell us much) but I am trying to switch to a feeding schedule. The previous owners just gave us the cat before they travelled home.

However, the cat has been peeing on furniture and beds which is unusual because when we first got him he didn't pee on anything but in the litter box. So, I took him to the vet to get a check up and the cat might have some sort of infection. I bought him medication but it requires the cat to eat. However, he has stopped eating since I started (yesterday) transitioning him to a feeding schedule. He has had a bite or two of the dry food (10 minutes ago, this is posted at 11:24PM)

I am worried the cat will hardly eat tonight and I can't give him any of the medications he is meant to be eating/taking.

Do you guys have any recommendations regarding transitioning to a feeding schedule, how to give him the medications while he is transitioning, and if I should be transitioning him while he needs his medication?

Thank you for reading.
