We've got a roughly two-year old cat that, as we understand it, spent his first six months outdoors, semi-feral. He's adapted well in the year and a half we've had him, and loves sitting on my lap (his preference) and cuddling, but still gets pretty skittish. Never had his paws touched as a kitten, wasn't ever picked up, etc, just generally a little spooked.
To the meat of it, if we want to try the purrito route to trimming his nails, or getting him near/into carriers for trips to the vet, whats out best way to go about that? Just toss a blanket over him and wrap him up like its a net? Whenever I've had a blanket on my lap, and try to wrap him up in that after he hops up/gets comfortable, he spooks at the first layer of blanket on his back and scoots out of there.
I've considered trimming one or two of his claws at a time, whenever it's an opportune moment, but a purrito situation would definitely be a useful utility to have available.
So, anyone have cats that reject the purrito life, and how did you get some work done on that?
