After a $3000 emergency linear foreign body surgery in the summer I’ve been super high alert and extra anxious when my cats do anything even the slightest bit odd. Last week my girly ate a plastic bag which normally wouldn’t worry me too much but ended up having the emergency vet induce vomiting for $300 anyway just in case. At this point there is literally no reason that I shouldn’t have it. Immediately I’m feeling so much relief. I don’t have to worry about my kitties getting sick and not having the resources to save them. I should have done it years ago.
Just remember , most of these insurance policies make you pay for the services and then reimburse you.
Still is nice to have. I lost one kitten which I think was doomed from the beginning, but to be sure it would have cost me over $5000 to find out. That's a horrible feeling to have to make that decision.

It is the worst. Our kitten's health was failing from the beginning. I had spent a thousand already and she wasn't getting better. It then had a massive event that was painful to see. I took her in and they wanted $5000 to give her tests. It was obvious she wasn't going to make it. Still to not spend the money to find out for sure just killed me. Never want to go through that again. I now have insurance on my other kitties.
