I need to make a very difficult decision for my cat…

Hello everyone!

In one week I will be moving and I need to decide what is best for my cat and not me. I adore and absolutely love my cat and want him to come with me but idk if it’s the best decision..

Currently I am at a 5.7k footage house big house and large yard. This house is also on a single sided residential the other side is a private baseball field (not open to public but have some games) there are also speed bumps.

We let our cats outside the way its set up we have a walled in yard but they can go to the front sometimes but they never venture to the street and because of how it is its a fairly safe street for cats (theres been long term strays that have thrived in this area).

The place im moving to has no yard and is much smaller. The street is also unsafe so him going outside is not an option. He will be in a small room most of the time he can be in living room but because people coming in and out more often im very afraid of him escaping so it will be surpervised and only sometimes most of his time will be in a standard sized bedroom.

Kitty can stay at said home as its my parents I also wfh so i will be there occasionally it is also only 10 mins away.

So reddit what is best?
