Basically my cat having problems with peeing.

she sits there for not the usual time and pee like a small amount, i already went to the vet and he gave medicine and told that it is the sand, I just want to ask how long will she take to recover because I'm terrified and scared about her. The vet gave me meds that she need to drink day and night.
