Hello. Recently, my cat had kittens. (Yes, I know I should have gotten her spayed. My grandpa suddenly passed and we no longer had the money after the funeral. She’d already gotten pregnant by the time I earned it back, as my grandfather usually handled vet bills.) She had five (three black ones, a stripe one, and one orange tabby who looks like he may have some gray - my cat is a calico, I believe the cat who fathered the kittens is a feral black cat that wanders around the forest near our house - which is the kitten in question.) The other kittens allow themselves to be held with no problem. The orange kitten, however, spits at you and is already trying to hiss as well. I know he may grow out of it, but on the off chance that he just ends up being a mean little kitty, is there anything I can do to help him be comfortable with people? So far i just try to hold him a few minutes in a day. He’ll get comfortable with lying on my neck after a little while and won’t hiss or spit at me again for a little bit, but the next day he’ll be back at it. Since we have other pets and live in farm country, I would really like to ease this baby’s stress about the world as best I can.
