Do I get another cat??

My cat has been making me tear up a little bit every time I leave for work, go out, etc. I can tell he really just wants me home and it kills me to leave. He’s such an energetic cat so I’ve been thinking about getting him a friend. I live in a tiny studio, unsure how two cats would feel in there. Also my cat runs the show gets all the attention, is truly pampered, I’m not even sure if they would be happy with another cat. Any advice/suggestions ??
