Hi yall, looking for some insight- our aging cat (13yo) has had recurring urinary tract issues and we feed him royal canin urinary s/o wet food along with hills urinary hairball control dry food. However, we cant get authorization for more of the wet food without taking him to the vet which is currently an unnecessary expense since heβs doing fine. Im looking for a comparable food i can buy without vet approval but im confused as to why many brands offer prescription and non-prescription formulas that are similar, and whether or not that makes a difference.
