Hello. I've never really opened up about this on such a big scale but I'm also not afraid to be honest about my experience being diagnosed with a mild form of bipolar disorder. The actual medical term for it is cyclothymia or cyclothymic disorder and I was diagnosed in my very early 20s so I've lived with it for over 10 years now and feel with support from my GP and therapy that I've been able to manage it much better over the last few years.
To describe what life is like, I experience frequent mood swings, from depressive episodes right through to hypomania, often without any specific triggers and my emotions are heightened at either end of the scale. It can be challenging obviously, some days are better than others, but generally speaking I'm in a good place.
I'm of course open to answering any questions about my life, and if you peek at my profile you may notice I'm also transgender, it's not related to my diagnosis above but I am open to answering questions about that as well, provided you're respectful and have the right intentions, then I'd be happy to reply as best I can.
