Cast Iron Griddle Sticky After Seasoning
Post Body

So I bought a cast iron griddle the other day. I was attempting to season it tonight. I put on some grape seed oil and put it in the oven at 350 for an hour. It comes out after cooling off and it is sticky and has dried up oil spots from where I put too much oil. The excess oil is not scrubbing off and it is not coming off even after I heat up the griddle in the oven again.

What can I do to remove the old oil and start over? Do I need to use steel wool or sandpaper?
