Housekeeper used oven cleaner on my cast iron skillets

Post Body

Hello,

I have a cast iron griddle and pan that my house cleaner used oven cleaner on. I tried not to care and have seen oven cleaner (easy off) can be used to restore old cast iron so I'm not too concern that they're ruined forever.

My question is, what should I do? The seasoning wasn't completely removed but when I just washed it and put it on the stove to dry, I noticed some of the seasoning was lifting off/bubbling off. I peeled it off and ran a dry paper towel through it and the color was rusty red or maybe greasy. My pans were not previously rusted.

What should I do? Should I just pour more easy off on it and let it sit and start from scratch? Do I just season as normal and cook on top of it?

I don't know!

Any help appreciated on my next steps.

Thanks
