Lodge cast iron pan - newbie question.

I recently got this new Lodge cast iron pan - I'm new to owning a cast iron pan. After cooking the first meal, cleaning the pan with warm water and paper towel, and drying on the stove, I noticed this shiny part on the pan. What is it? Do I not worry about it? Do I now season the pan?
