Hi I’m brand new to all this and was looking for some cassette players online and came across retrospect. Very expensive but I thought it would scratch my itch so I ordered a WM f31/f41 Walkman and a D-EJ360 cd player and some cassettes. It was a very rash purchase, and I should have done more thinking beforehand. I realized I was taking a lot of the fun out of it by not hunting around and fixing something up myself for a much more sane price. So, I canceled my order before it even shipped and got a refund. I am pretty interested in repairing and refurbishing a cassette player and cd player for myself. I’m a newbie so I just wanted to see if y’all had any general advice for someone getting into this. What stuff do I need to repair and refurbish a cassette player? Is eBay the main place to go? What should I look for? Any pitfalls I should be aware of? Do thrift stores and goodwill still have this kind of stuff? Any advice or tips at all is appreciated. Thank y’all so much.
