I've had this PMD740, and I've gotten a lot of good use out of it. I recently plugged it in after it sat for about a year, and it doesn't turn on at all. It definitely had some ware before it was broken, but still worked for my needs.
In a search to find someone who could fix this machine, I first contacted Marantz (I had contacted them a few years ago to get the manual). They told me it's a Pro line product so I need to contact InMusic Inc., who upon contact gave me a list of repair shops that are certified to work on this brand. They're all saying they can't fix it because the machine is old, and the parts are hard to get.
I don't have the knowledge or confidence to successfully take this apart and fix it.
I found this sub and figure it was worth a try.
Hoping there is even one single human on this earth that I could pay to fix this for me...it's my favorite thing :(
