My Carvana post delivery review Pt II
Post Body

So if you haven't read my initial pre delivery review, and you are looking at purchasing a car from Carvana, I suggest you go check it out, if you have read it and you want to know how it goes... here we go.

So when we last left, I told you we were waiting to go pickup our vehicle. Well in the mean time, I didnt sell my car locally, so I decided to trade it in, I called the customer service number and gave them the vin of my trade, the same questions they ask on the website, they ask you on the phone. Ever been in a wreck, who's the lien holder if any, mileage, balance owed, condition, ect. They base your trade in off of a Kelley Blue Book value, at "good condition." They will ask you then to go onto your online profile and upload some documents, including a copy of the title front and back (if available) a letter from your lender including balance, 10 day payoff, account number, ect, a copy of your registration, and a picture of your odometer with the "car running" I suppose they are looking to see if any engine lights are on. They gave me a value, which was low, as expected, and they will roll any balance up to $2500 into your current loan, anything over that amount, is paid upfront by you, so if you are overly upside down in your loan, better have some money to cough up.

Delivery day arrives, we are 2.5 hours from Atlanta, with a printed copy of my insurance documents, signed copies if my contract I printed, my ID, and my trade, we head off to Atlanta! We arrive an hour before our appointment and cruise through the parking lot to see if our car is sitting there, its not, so we go enjoy lunch and come back at 12:45 for our 1pm appointment, we sit in the parking lot as the rain is coming down, watching a new owner of his Hyundai, unload stuff from his beat up old Ford Focus. The three bay doors are open a car in the left and right and the center one is open. Im still not seeing my car here at 15 mins prior to arrival, ill admit im getting nervous, then from below the building, here comes my car up the ramp and they back it into the bay. They dont close the door, just let the car sit there covered in rain, dripping like a wet dog, that was told to sit in the mud room. We head inside and take a seat on the couch to be greeted at 1:05, by the rep named Stacy. She asked us to hang tight where she went and prepared the car, included inserting cups, and referral cards, and a pen. (BTW, if you are reading this, hit me up and ill save you $500 and I make $100, only valid for the first 10 people) This kinda bothered me, because I expected it to be ready to go, with the big bow on it as requested for my wife's Birthday gift, but it was clean, and they did have a "Happy Birthday" flag on the dash for her, they instructed us to take it for a test drive and she would check out our trade, and when we were done we would come sign paperwork. Being armed with Mazda's 150 point inspection paperwork they do on all their certified pre owned cars, I took off, and headed for the interstate, driving at highway speeds checking everything including cruise, mirror adjustments, noises, and such. Then I hit the local streets in the rain, checking the handling, gauges, AC/Heat radio ect. I pulled over to a service station and noticed the oil change service sticker said it was due, I popped the hood checked the oil, clean, air filter. brand new, coolant, full, brake fluid, full, tires were brand new, all windows rolled up and down lights and blinkers and doors worked, I kept looking and looking for something to find to get me a discount, but I couldn't, aside one speaker in the BOSE speaker system didnt work and the battery on the key FOB were dead. We headed back to the "vending machine."

Upon arrival, we backed it back into the bay, and went inside, as we sat down at a table to sign some paperwork, it pretty much included the release of title from my trade, which was valued at what I was promised, and they didnt try to undercut it, the 7 day return policy, which includes rules like keep it under 400 miles or pay $1 a mile over 400, dont make any changes to the vehicle including tint, radio, racing stripe, ect. Power of attorney forms, and being that im from Alabama, we signed Alabama registration paperwork. I then told her about the small defects that needed repaired, she told me to call the warranty company tomorrow and we would set up a repair to get it taken care off.

We the loaded all the paperwork into a folder, she said grab what we needed to out of our old car, and she removed our plate to return it to us, and wished us well!

We drove home!

Tomorrow I call the warranty and let them know a few things I need fixed, including the speaker, and it could use a detail inside, it was clean, just not like new dealer clean.

All in all it was a good experience. Loving our 4th Mazda this 2014 Mazda6 Grand Touring.

I hope this review helped you understand the process, the whole company is extremely transparent, and I found the car to be represented extremely well.

Things I learned: 1. You have a 3 strikes policy, if you try 3 vehicles, and dont like the three and bring them back, you have to wait 6 months, this prevents them from people using them for free. 2. They will fix things you can show them wrong to make the car write, dont be afraid to tell them, your car in a major investment, and they are still making money, make your car right! 3. While they are attentive, they rush you, dont expect a grand door opening, fun "vending machine" experience, its a theres your car now go attitude. 4. Referrals work, pass out your code and make $100!

If you need one to save $500 off message me and ill give you one, you call the number and let the rep know, and save $$$!
