I’ve had a manual 500c Abarth for the past year. And I am almost entirely in love with this ridiculous, puny yet humongously fun excuse for a car. It snarls when you get on it, backfires if you lift off after 4k, and burbles like a proper monster when rolling at low speeds. Despite the clutch throw being stupidly short and you essentially dump it when you want to take off, it never wants to go into reverse when I want it to, and my arm rest broke off soon after getting it like many other Abarths, the little things just got me hooked for life. There are many better and faster sports cars but this little hot hatch is mine, it’s paid off, it’s red, it shoots flames occasionally, and the fuel pump might be going out soon, but the cars ability to make 60 feel like a hundred and cute but aggressive nature are just something I could never do without. This car by some isn’t a true sports car, hell, some people don’t even think it’s an actual car, but to me, its a car I’m in love with and it will always be the car that’s made me into the automotive enthusiast I am today.
