I don't know what to do with this truck, what an impulse buy.
Here we go.
Tl;Dr: I bought an isis-style stock 93 yota pickup and I don't know if i want to flip it, lift it, or slam it on it's nuts.
I drive by my local corner store after visiting a family member in a not-so-nice part of town. I shoot the shit with the owner, a cool guy Joe with this rad stock white 1993 single cab yota pickup that I have been asking about for the last few months. He's the owner of this ratty old corner store but due to the high amount of foot traffic in this store, dude is hood rich. He has like three new Toyotas for his family and we have the same generation Rav4 so basically whenever we talk when I'm at the store the conversation ends with us practically touching dicks over Toyota reliability.
So today I ask, hey joe when are you gonna sell me your toyota in a joking way. He says, "you want it??, ill sell it to you whenever you wanna come to the store and get it all I want is like 600 dollars for it" and I said fuck yes I do Joe. I see him dailying this car routinely. We talk for about 15 mins while I'm just driving the car around the local area, utterly astonished that the 5 speed on this truck feels crisp as it did. The roads around are horrible so I got a good feel for the suspension and chassis of the car when I was driving it. I was just happy for all the gear to be there initially for 600.
Anyways It's 12:30 and I'm cracking open a beer with this truck sitting in my friends shop and now we are wondering what do we do next. I almost want to clean it up and flip it for 3k, but if I do i certainly would wait a few months so joe doesn't think I hustled him.
Also, no pics because I have a lot of friends in the area who are on reddit and I truly want to keep this a surprise, but I will update this post or make a new one tomorrow. I've also already tapped heavily into the Stella reserves and I feel the need to let that be known.
I will make a new post when I find the first problem haha. Well i'm staring at it: the truck has no bumpers or tail light covers lol
Wish me luck!
Edit 1: washed the car down and detailed it, now we are probably going to clean up the engine bay a little and look for any oil leaks. Some coolant hoses look pretty fucked and he did say the car was starting to run hot after a while of driving starting back a few months, so that would be awesome if I could get the temps lower just by replacing possibly one radiator hose or coolant line.
