Just started a job hotshotting, part of the job requires sleeping in the car, in the case of someone trying to mess with truck/trailer/load (before anyone comments, I know how ridiculous it is, just riding the money wave until I save enough to pay off past due bills).
Quick google searches say 1/2 hour to an hour is about all you should idle, without the risk of carbon monoxide poisoning yourself. Is this true though? I would imagine that same risk would apply if you were driving for long periods of time, or that the risk wouldn't apply since I'm parked outside, but then again, I don't know much about cars in general, just whatever I read in Hanes manuals to fix my own cars. Also, would keeping windows rolled down defer any risk of carbon monoxide poisoning, if I did decide to idle? Thanks for any help/advice!
