It's been 4 caregivers now, been living here a year. That doesn't mean everyone met the 3 month mark- but on average 🤷🏼♀️
What I've learned is that this industry has a high turn around. Mostly because of the transient nature of people, but also of their 'natures' as well.
People pick up interesting habits when they're always on the move, and I'm learning that it takes about 3 months to get to know each other.
But by then (or sooner) we know the working relationship is over.
I want to hire the next person and not get attached. I want to understand that they probably drink, or party, and I'm the square one now that I'm living off of pain meds.
But, as I write this, the caregiver's husband is sniffing deeply and I recognize the sound. She might not be aware of it, or he might have her fooled, but I grew up in the 80s. I know when someone has a runny nose. Or not...
I'm happy they are leaving. Although I'm going to miss his wife, she's been the best caregiver yet.
Really dislike the rehiring stage. Going to increase a boundary in the new ad- no smokers. I think it will draw a different crowd. What do you think?
