I'm 33 and one of the reasons of my anxiety is that I'm just going on without a career and without money. So I could definitely use some help.
I have my BA in psychology (though initially went to school for music). Since college, I mostly worked entry level jobs (retail, fast food, call centers) and the most "professional" job I've had was working as a legal assistant in two different law firms (the pay wasn't better though). At first, I wanted to use my psych degree to get a rehab job but almost all such jobs in my area require experience (I still apply anyway though) and never got such a job.
If I could choose where I work, I would like to work on a museum, art gallery, something to do with history, something to do with mental health, nonprofit type of career, etc. I briefly went to grad school for library and information science but had to drop out because of costs and had issues juggling classes and working full time.
Now, I'm unemployed, poor, trying to pay off student loans, living at home, dealing with mental health issues, no friends, and trying to find a career. It's frustrating working only entry level jobs with having a degree feeling like I'm a reasonably intelligent for over a decade. I feel like college and all those loans were just such a waste.
What can I do if I can't afford to take new classes or something like that? Any advice?
