Feeling worried, should I ask for my previous job back at my work?

Post Body

It’s been almost 2 months since I’ve moved to a different department within the company I work for. Transition had been weird. I feel I made a wrong decision, as at the time I thought it was a correct one for myself and my family. Currently I feel there is little to no work, I constantly ask the higher ups within my team for work…but they say we will let you know. Feeling the work in regulated to only specific people. I’m a person that if I don’t do some type of work, I’m feeling unproductive and sacred of what’s going to happen. Don’t like to non-billable all the time. I’m my head I really want to go back to my old department , where I know at least there was work to be done. What should I do? Should I stick it out?
