Hey all,
After a number of years of working in my own mental health and wellbeing, and having a lot of workplace discriminations and judgements I am discussing with my therapist about my next career move.
Something that I am passionate about is helping other people and being a huge mental health and wellbeing advocate and rather train to be a counsellor or mental health nurse I'd like to focus it on workplace based wellbeing.
I have had so many jobs and experiences of jobs where they say they are inclusive of all genders, sexualities and wellbeing but when push came to shove they were far from that and were in fact quite exclusionary and not valuing their employees.
I would like to either find a role or maybe even a long term business idea which would allow me to go to a company and analyse their HR processes, get stats / feedback from the staff to try to impliment to make the company more inclusive and understand of everyone.
I want to get companies to understand and want to learn to move forward with the times and how to keep their staff happier and wanting to stay because they feel listened to.
Now I realise I can't just jump in to this, I do have. Alot of offoce/ admin experience so could try to keep an eye out for mental health coordinator type roles but looking at the long term I'm thinking about going to back to college or uni and am a bit spoilt for choice for options.
So my questions are:
Do you know of any specific job roles that would be good for me to search for to get in to?
What courses (in the UK) do you think will be most beneficial to think of for long term plans - statistical, business, mental health etc? There are even so many within those categories.
Thoughts and advice appreciated l,
Ray x
