Switching careers from HR to customer success management. Is this a good move? How do I negotiate?

Post Body

I’m trying to transition out of HR. I’m thinking of moving into Customer Success Manager roles and I have a job offer at a great tech company. Their offer was 60k plus 15k variable comp.

I currently make 60 as an hr coordinator. I really am not enjoying HR. I’ve heard customer success is a growing field and once you transition from Associate CSM you can become a CSM then a Sr. CSM and the earning potential is great in my eyes. Anywhere from 100-170k

How would you negotiate the base to be at least 65? Is this a good move?
