How can I figure out what to pursue if I’m tired of my career in nursing ?
Post Body

This is long, so I apologize in advance.

Hey guys - I am hoping to get some guidance here. I feel very lost about what I want to do w my life.

I am 32 and I graduated summa cum laude with a bachelors in nursing, I’ve been an RN for 8 years and have worked within healthcare for 15 years (minus the last 2 years I haven’t really worked anything steady). I have done all types of nursing, mostly management and administration (which I feel I excel at). However, due to the changes in healthcare and the uncertainty of what lies ahead I don’t know that I want to stay in this field. Also, the thing I hate most about management in healthcare is staffing. It can be so difficult and impossible at times.

I have long time had an interest in HR and I think I would love it, but due to my tastes and cost of living (in Boston) I really need to make 100k or more. And I don’t think HR could ever get that high or it would be difficult to? I also think long term I would want and hope to make a lot more than that because I will likely be a single parent and want to be able to provide for my children. (I have none currently).

I got accepted to an NP program but declined and I also considered grad school for PT or OT but I think I need to not be inside healthcare at all, unless it’s a business type of job.

Any suggestions?! I’m def open to going to grad school, considering MBA currently, I just have no experience and it worries me - obviously I’d have to take business classes before that.

Xoxo ty for any input
