Looking for Some Help/Advice Going into Outside Sales? Company Car?
Hi all,
I am currently a branch manager of a bank that is heavily focused on sales, and I enjoy every bit of the sales aspect, but I recently decided to look for other career opportunities as the practices of the bank are changing for the worse.
I received an interview for an Outside Sales Rep position at Pella Windows. The base pay and commission/bonuses look perfect and I know I would perform well. The issue is the location and territory I would cover is over an hour (60 miles) from my home and it wouldn’t be worth it to me with all the miles and wear and tear I would put on my personal vehicle… also considering I would be driving to clients constantly and putting even more miles on my car.
In the job posting, they do say they provide a car allowance, but I still don’t think it would be work it with all the miles I would put on it. Is there a possibility I could get a company car to drive? Or could I negotiate that in by perhaps dropping my base salary?
Also, any recommendations for companies or types of sales jobs that would provide a company car?
