Ever since graduating in 2020 with a degree in Earth Science I’ve been working as a water quality lab tech. I felt dissatisfied with my pay so I’ve gone out of my way to get a Masters degree in Data Science. For the last 2 years I’ve been doing analytics projects and getting my degree to pivot into the analytics field. However, I’ve sent 500 applications to internships and entry level positions with no call backs. I think I’m starting to give up on my career change at this point. I’m lost and I don’t know what to do. I’ve sacrificed a lot for little gain. Should I go back to lab tech jobs? Are there any careers that let me make use of my degrees, skills and experience?
