I exhausted my annual leave quota, since my company does not give all the leaves upfront but rather I get a certain amount of days for each month I complete. I have some upcoming plans which I really want to take days off for but since I have no more annual leaves, I applied for unpaid leave instead. My manager let me know that usually there is some unspoken rules that you should always have some annual leave balance for emergencies. In my perspective, my annual leaves are more planned and I usually plan them out months in advance but for emergencies I personally have no issue using unpaid leaves. But since this conversation with my manager, I am feeling slightly guilty. Not sure if this is common. Thank you all for any comments!🙈
