I’m currently a driver recruiter for a midsized transportation company and have been in the field/industry for about 7 years. I’ve taken a break from college, but I’ll be back next semester for a BAAS in Safety Management (only two more semesters before graduation). I currently make 56k a year and receive commission anywhere from $500-$1300 monthly.
I feel like I’m ready for something new and challenging. I also feel like I’m being underpaid. Only reason I’m still here is because the work/life balance is okay and I get to work from home. I don’t know if I want to stay in the transportation industry since it seems like most cap around $60k-$65k yearly.
Is there anything that I can transition into that would get me into the 90k-100k range?
My background consist of: - Assistant Property Manager. I then switched industries into logistics. - Recruiting Coordinator for an Intermodal Trucking Company - Safety Admin (Federal Compliance such as Department of Transportation requirements), then promoted to Driver Recruiter, then “Auto Claims & Worker’s Comp Liason” for a Freight Carrier - “Bilingual Driver Recruiter” for an Intermodal Trucking Company
I looked into becoming a data analyst but after all the layoffs happening in tech, I don’t think I’d want to go that route anymore. I’m not interested in engineering. I looked into insurance- is there anything I can do that’s not claims? I don’t mind staying within recruiting, but would prefer to be less customer-facing and more in a backend role.
Thank you for your help!
