How do I get out of factory work?

Post Body

Hello everyone, (29M) here. Basically ever since I got out of high school the only type of work I've ever done is factory related work. Bindery worker, food plants, paper mills, hydroblasting/explosives technician, etc.

I liked my line of work being an explosives technician and helping our industrial division out hydroblasting and such, but I hated the traveling aspect of the job. I would like to find a job more so in a sales/office type setting, where I can just work a simple M-F schedule and make decent money. I currently work at a paper mill and I just hate my work/life balance.

I typically work 6 days on, 2 days off, 8 hours a day (weekend off every 2 months.) I work all 3 shifts, and they have been adding a lot of OT lately due to improper staffing and other random things. I would like to pursue options elsewhere, but I have a mortgage and other bills I need to worry about. I currently make around $30/hr, and the last job I had I was making around $20/hr. I was barely scraping by at that job, and was effectively living paycheck to paycheck. I would like an entry level position in a non-factory setting making 50K/year minimum, but I'm struggling to find anything that is "consistent" and see a lot of commission based jobs, which worries me due to lack of sales experience. What should I do?
