Iām currently in my 4th week of a 7 week summer internship. This internship is at a summer camp in which I stay onsite for the duration of the 7 weeks. I have received two warning, I just got the second one today. I do not think these warning were warranted as: 1. My boss had expressed to the owner of the camp how she was unsatisfied with my work, without giving me any verbal indication of this dissatisfaction. I just was called to the owners office and shown the warning. Which I signed. 2. I received a second warning today as I had attempted to go around some kids at the camp and they had ran Infront of the car. Even though I stopped the car, because the kids were shaken up and the adult around were also shaken up, I received another warning for reckless driving.
My parents are saying I should resign from the job and come home before I get another warning and ultimately a dismissal, as I received both in close succession. The first on July 11th and the second today on July 24th.
My parents also said it was irresponsible of me to sign the written warnings if I disagreed with what was being said, which I agree. They are asking me what I want to do but are heavily for the moot that I should quit before being fired.
Another question is even if I continue this job (whether to the end or being fired) should I put this job on my resume while still having warnings and if I am fired. I do have references(other employees) from the job that have said I can use them as a reference instead of my boss. But would future internships contact the owner of the camp directly for a statement?
And should I stay and just try to do my best to not get any more warnings?
Edit: My position basically involves working in the Health center, in which my duties are mostly checking in campers, filing health records and driving campers to appointments(which is where the second warning comes into play)
