I work in the construction industry. One of the clients that we are working with on a large scale project is setting up a new project team, and has asked me if I would be interested in joining.
I am very interested and we have had a few discussions on the opportunity, but the client says due to the contracts between the companies (current employer and client) they can only offer me the new employment contract once my employment with my current employer is over.
I have been given the high level details and been told βitβs yours if you want it.β
Is it normal practice to do this, or should I push for the employment contract to be signed first before giving in my resignation?
