Sober after 10 years - new outlook - lost!
So I spent the last decade on a nice mix of drugs. Was addicted to Xanax and Meth. Oddly this destroyed my personal life I must say I always crushed it at work, the drugs definitely helped this, it was a long hour quite high pressure job so I was able to keep both motivated confident and chilled at the same time. I worked in senior management on about £60k per year. I am from the UK and personally I think this is a really good salary. More than I ever expected. It was long hours and quite stressful.
For a number of reasons I decided to get sober. I knew I would never manage this when working so I quit. I had money saved. I took time off and I'm now clean. I'm 9 months off work.
I made sure to live on a very cheap budget whilst getting clean as my savings were not unlimited (basically just meals).
The thing is I actually now love this simple lifestyle. Getting sober my whole outlook has changed. What I feel is important to me has totally changed. I honestly now dont give a shit about my past expensive lifestyle. I especially now dont give a shit about a high paid job and all the stress and stuff that comes with it.
More than that I think stress jobs with long hours feed my addictive nature. I now realise I sort of got high of the long hours etc. That's not healthy
So I think I can survive on £25k but I have no clue what even to look for.
I want something low stress and that I dont think about all the time like my last jobs.
I am 35M. Background in Account management, running large teams and growing businesses.
What should I look into doing?
Any jobs people have that fill this description?
Anyone have a similar experience?
Thanks for reading :)
