TLDR: I need to get working in counseling really quick. What's the shortest path?
Long version: I've been a massage therapist for 16 years. I'm a talking massage therapist, which means, unless they request otherwise, we talk for the entire massage. It works really well for most of my clients. Sadly arthritis has kicked in and it hurts to work now. I can push through for a bit more, but I need something new. I asked my clients what they think I should do and received a resounding and very clear "you should be a therapist." I didn't know, but many of my clients quit therapy because I they said I have done more for their mental health than their therapists. I've always enjoyed the field of psychology and love helping people through their trials. From a dark hair beauty working through a scarring alopecia diagnosis, a guy who wants to do everything so can't decide on anything, a woman who lost her 16 year old daughter in a car wreck, I've heard so much. However, my hands won't last the years it would take to get the degree in aiming for and plan to get. My ultimate goal is to have my focus on family and relationship but at this point I just need to work and work quickly. Any advice?
