Long story short: I VERBALLY accepted a position at a firm that I really liked but after thinking it over, the position is paying too little for the work they expect me to do and it's 100% remote which I was not told it would be. They emailed me the offer letter to sign on Friday.
Meanwhile another position came my way that I do like and accepted. That one I signed the offer letter and got the new hire process going.
What is a good way to professionally decline the other offer that I verbally accepted? I know they are going to be upset with me about this but I think the other role is the best thing for me now. I don't want to alienate the other firm but I know that might be impossible. Any advice would be greatly appreciated.
Thank you.
