Context: I work in healthcare and there’s only one other person in the hospital system with my specialty. I recently proposed a project based on our specialty to help decrease wait times and use other providers when appropriate for lower complexity. The project has a fair amount of work and I was told by my boss that I have to include the other specialist even though she only works one day a week. We have a career ladder and she needs to be involved in a project to be eligible for a raise.

I haven’t been in the field long enough to be allowed to apply for a raise on this career ladder and the project keeps getting delayed since the other person only works one day a week. Any advice on fixing this other than being a pouty brat in the corner
