Beginner card-making supplies.

So I want to start making my own cards. I am supposedly getting card stuffs for Christmas (so I will spend less money on the hobby, lol) and I wanted to put some card-making supplies on my list. Issue is I dont know what I need for beginner card-making. I see you all with those mats, but I dont know what kind to get or anything like that.
So what are the best beginner card making supplies?
