If this is not the right sub can you recommend a better sub for me?
I hang out in bars a lot and run into people that want to play Euchre but can't focus enough to play for real so I came up with a cross between war and euchre to try and simplify game play a bit.
It helps if you're familiar with euchre already, if you aren't I linked a better description than I can write.
2-4 players Separate deck for euchre Deal equal portions of the deck to each player The low cards are shuffled and the top card is flipped each hand to decide trump Each player draws a 3 card hand from their pile and plays from the left of the dealer with standard Euchre rules If a player gets 2 books they get 1 point if they get 3 books they get 2 points If playing with 2 players the loser of the previous hand leads the next hand with 3 or 4 players the lead starts to the left of the dealer and continues around the circle
If you're playing with more than 2 players it's possible no one gets a point in a hand and this could translate pretty well to a drinking game.
I've been playing it for a few days and people are having fun, some tweaks I've tried: Everyone draw a card after every play so you maintain a 3 card hand and whoever has the most books at the end is the winner. Same as the last idea but first to a set number of books wins. 10 books works for 2 players, 5 books is good for 3 players and 3 books for 4 players.
The goal is for a fast paced low effort version of euchre that has a similar feel but much less nuance than traditional versions of the game.
