I grew up and currently live in The Netherlands, all you'll ever need here is a front wheel drive, 120hp, hatchback. Any type of luxury car, off-roader, 4x4, or anything with high fuel consumption / CO² emissions gets taxed to hell and back and you'll end up paying more in taxes then what the car would cost.
Now here's the thing, I'm moving to Texas, USA. (For my job).
And I'm looking for options as to what cars/SUV's/Trucks I should check out. Budget is really not an issue and practically unlimited.
But I have some requirements: - The seats and ride need to be comfortable and relaxing on long journeys. - The car needs to have AWD or 4x4 so I can go off-roading for camping & fishing trips, it also needs to be able to tow a basic bass fishing boat. I won't do serious extreme off-roading, but it needs to be capable on the milder trails. - The car needs to seat 4 people (3 passengers & me) that are over 6ft tall. So leg room in the back is really important. - As an audio engineer, I really value a good high quality Hi-Fi like sound system. - The boot/trunk needs to be big enough to carry large items. - As much as I love fast cars and big engines, I'd prefer ride comfort and a good MPG in this situation, since it will be a daily driver. - Oh and the more reliable, the better.
What would you suggest? I've been looking at things like the Land Rover Range Rover, Range Rover Sport, Ford F-150, Ford Explorer, Volvo XC90, Jeep Grand Cherokee... But I just simply don't know what the best option would be.
