Hi everyone,
I'm seeking some advice on a decision I've been mulling over for a while now. I've been considering purchasing a new vehicle, particularly a Durango SRT, which has been a dream car of mine. Right now, I've found one priced at $35,700, and I'm working on negotiating the price down further.
Here's a bit about my current situation: I work in car sales, where my income is commission-based. While I've been doing fairly well lately, there's always the uncertainty of hitting commission targets. If I miss out, my base pay is just minimum wage, which isn't much at $16.50 per hour.
However, I do have some backup options. I have experience in landscaping and have received job offers for higher-paying hourly jobs, around the high twenties per hour, which I could take if needed and still easily make the car payment.
Additionally, I live in my parents' house, which they own, and I don't have to pay rent, so my expenses are minimal. My credit score is in the 760s, and I have no debt.
Considering all these factors, I'm torn about whether it's a wise move to proceed with purchasing my dream car at a young age, especially given the price tag.
Any insights or suggestions would be greatly appreciated. Thank you in advance for your help!
