Hi there! So after an oil change they told me I’ve got coolant leaking into the oil and that a mechanic can fix a head gasket for $2000-5000. I bought it used a few years ago for $4500
The car has 146000 Km’s on it, and aside for one fairly substantial scratch is in great condition. Without the head gasket issue I can imagine Selling the car for $6000 at least here in Canada.
My options are as follows:
scrap the car for what $$$ I can get, and lease a new car, or buy another (though used cars are really expensive nowadays)
Or get it fixed, then sell it for the full 6K and get a new or used car. Or just keep it. At what point does it not become worth fixing?
Thoughts?
