Iâm trying to get into selling high-quality nut butters and jams out of my place. These would be made with the highest quality seeds, nuts, and legumes (peanuts) as well as locally-sourced fruit (farmerâs markets, local suppliers, etc.).
The nuts, seeds, and legumes will undergo soaking and dehydrating as opposed to roasting (peanuts are the exception to this, as they must be roasted regardless). This is because roasting ends up resulting in the loss of some of the nutritional value of the product, whereas soaking and dehydrating causes the same release of the anti-nutrients and enzyme blockers and allows the product to remain effectively raw and retain its full nutritional value.
Here are the butters: (16oz)
All are organic and are reduced down to a size of >20 microns in diameter. This means that the butters (before adding in any âcrunchâ) will literally be smoother than your tongue can detect.
1) Peanut ($7 each or 2 for $10) 2) Sunflower Seed ($8) 3) Almond (imported from Europe*) ($9) 4) Pumpkin seed ($12) 5) Cashew ($12) 6) Walnut ($15) 7) Hazelnut (not read: Nutella lol) ($15) 8) Pecan ($20) 9) Macadamia ($20) 10) Pistachio ($25)
Its nearly impossible to find truly raw and unpasteurized almonds here in the states thanks to a law that passed a few years ago. So you usually have to import if you want almonds that havenât undergone *any type of processing.
Jams: (12oz)
All will be locally sourced and made in a way so as to retain a notable more of the fruitâs characteristics during cooking. Iâm unfortunately not able to provide prices for the jams at this point. I apologize.
1) Strawberry 2) Grape 3) Grape (jelly) (no fruit pieces)) 4) Raspberry 5) Blackberry 6) Peach 7) Blueberry 8) Cherry 9) Apple 10) Apple (jelly (no fruit pieces)) 11) Pineapple
Iâve seen people have success with making butters and jams out of their own homes, and I feel like some of the prices in that market could do with a bit of undercutting.
I would only be making the ones listed and not any combos or anything additional (such as nutella and the like).
The butters will have the option to be crunchy for no extra charge. The ratio of such jars would be 80:20/butter:chopped nuts.
I wonât list prices right now, as I canât guarantee the jam prices until I secure a fruit vendor, so it wouldnât make sense to provide prices for only half the products Iâd be offering.
Iâm more so just looking for feedback at the moment to gauge interest, seeing who all would be interested in purchasing locally-produced, utmost-quality versions of these types of products, but at lower prices than youâd find anywhere else, including online. Not to mention that some of these products simply canât be found locally; and if they are, theyâre in a smaller jar, theyâre often cut with something, and they typically have annoyingly-high prices.
Thank you for any feedback.
