Editing text in box not possible anymore

My CV is done in Canva, a series of text boxes with relevant information. Now though when I click on a box to edit it, the spacing changes, meaning the text drops down over the box below, making it basically unreadable to do the edits. Once I click away from the box it returns to normal.
Does anyone know why this is happening and how to stop it from doing that so I can actually edit my CV?
