Next step from enthusiast to professional level camera.
Post Body

Hey everyone, I’ve been rocking a Canon 80D for about 3 years, mainly as a daily driver to learn photography, and to pursue as a hobby.

I’ve really fallen in love with photography this time and have started doing photos for local bands, portraits for friends and dabbling into landscape. About 50% of my time is video and 50% is stills.

What I’m curious about is this, I’m tempted to upgrade to a more professional level camera and try to make a side business for photography in addition to my day job. I’d like to upgrade my camera as a result.

I’m torn between the 5d mark iv and the R5. I have the funds for either of these as I’ve been saving for quite a while.

I guess what I’m getting at is which would you recommend. I know the 5d line is all but dead sadly. But I’m concerned about the overheating with the R5. I also have about 6 EF lenses that would work with the 5D to my knowledge. I know there are adapters for the R5 but am also nervous about investing in new glass again.

Any advice on this would be appreciated.
