The first disclaimer I thought of when writing the title is I would know if I needed 45MP if I actually did work that required such a high MP count.
The other disclaimer is that I genuinely don't think I care about 8K. I don't really do video so 4K is more than enough. I also wouldn't want do deal with the immense amount of storage needed for 8K files.
I'm moving up from the 7DII which is also 20MP but I've worked with the a7III before and I think enjoyed the higher count of 24MP.
My main focus before Covid was live music/festival photography as well as portraits. There have been times where I've been able to crop and get a nice image at the cost of having a more pixelated image than I'd like. I wish I could try and see for myself if I actually enjoy 45MP or even need it but don't think that's possible.
I also think the digital top view mode screen is super nice but I'm not sure how practical/useful it actually is in practice. A review I watched said that they didn't even use it that much since they had everything they needed inside the viewfinder.
So for me, it comes down to if I think 45MP and a digital mode screen is worth $1400 and the logical side of me is saying it is definitely not worth it.
I appreciate any insight! Thanks.
