Hey everyone, I’m an intermediate photographer, mostly experienced with film, so I’m used to manual controls. I’m looking to switch to Canon’s mirrorless system and deciding between the Canon R8 (new) and a used R5. I’ve found some used R5s for just under €2,000, which is also my budget for the camera body (€2,000). I’ve come across the R6 Mark II at the same price, but I’ve decided not to consider it.
I shoot mainly portraits and landscapes, and I like the higher resolution of the R5. However, I already own a few EF lenses and plan to use them with an adapter. Is there a noticeable difference in performance (especially autofocus and image quality) when adapting EF lenses on these bodies versus using native RF lenses?
Looking forward to your recommendations!
Thanks!
