Title. Last week I accidentally left my old 6D on the corner of a table and knocked it over on accident while picking up some other stuff, causing it to fall on the edge of some dumbbells and the LCD glass to shatter. The camera still works fine and aside from a giant crack on the screen and some dead pixels so I'm wondering what to do at this point-- IIRC Canon no longer services the original 6D due to it being considered discontinued and the giant glass fracture makes it hard to use outdoors in bright sunlight.
I shoot professionally & for fun with an R61/2 & and an R, so I have no immediate need to replace this camera but I have some nostalgia towards this particular camera as it was the one that I built my initial stages of my photography career on. Is it worth taking to a third-party shop to get a screen replacement? Keep using as-is? Or retire as a paperweight to live on my shelf? Thanks for reading.
