hey there, hoping someone can help me out or offer advice for this issue i just started to have.
my go to lens is my 55-250mm, as it can provide very good versatility when zooming in on various things. however, out of nowhere just 30 minutes ago it got stuck. i had just taken a photo, and i had twisted it to 55mm. however when i tried zooming to 250mm again, it got stuck at 70 and wouldn’t go any further. it was working perfectly fine prior to this, and i didn’t drop it once today nor in the past.
for reference, i am shooting with autofocus on, and focusing works fine without a hitch. but i can no longer zoom in for some odd reason, only stuck at 70mm which is an annoyance. my only other lenses are 18-55mm and 50mm, which wouldn’t help me as my subjects of photography are trains, and i capture them at long distances away for better angles and point of views.
it’s the 55-250mm f/4.0-5.6 stm lens, and i’m using this with a canon eos rebel t7/2000d. if anyone could offer any sort of advice asap, id appreciate it. i had bought this lens off amazon in september 2022, and it never failed me until now. i dont have the money to get a new one or a secondhand one, and repairs would probably be out of the question as id also probably not have the money for that either.
