R6 is making bizarre choices on auto exposure for shutter speed, never goes faster than 1/400 even if massively overexposed
Post Body

Alright nobody had any ideas, so I gave up and reset all. That seems to have worked... sigh starting back over setting 70 other things again. Thanks

I see no setting in the menu for "maximum auto shutter speed", only minimum. Yet it's acting as if 1/400 is a maximum speed it's allowed to automatically set. Same thing in Tv (when shutter is on auto), Av, or Program.

It's also not a STRICT limit, it will sometimes begrudgingly go to 1/800 or 1/1000 if I point directly at a desk lamp from 2 inches away or something (again horribly overexposed, obviously).

And it's not the lens or anything (or I don't think so:), because the exposure preview in the viewfinders etc looks fine and the histogram predicted looks fine. It manages to get the right numbers for EVF amplification. The shutter speed just isn't getting the memo and has a phobia of 1/800 speeds, for no apparent reason?

Halp, please
