Canon 1DX Mark II and Sigma 120-300 2.8

Has anyone ever paired up the sigma 120-300 2.8 with the 1DX ii? How were your results?

In an ideal world I would have the canon 200-400 with the 1.4 but that isn’t in my budget.

I’m mostly shooting sports and wildlife, often indoor sports too (volleyball). I figured the 120-300 would be ideal with the 2.8. I would also eventually happen to add a canon 500mm f4 IS or the sigma 500mm.

If anyone has used this lens with their 1DX I’d love to hear about it. Also feel free to make any suggestions around the 2k USD price range. Thanks :)
